Coaches

Richard Todd.   Rich is an Advanced Wattbike Practitioner, a Level 2 Gym Instructor, and a Level 3 Fitness & Personal Trainer. Very keen on the benefits of winter training, he and Nick were running circuit training for cyclists some 30 years ago. He has been organising winter training camps in Majorca for over 20 years. Rich is a regular at Dynamic Rides and has somehow become lodged as a regular run leader for the Intermediate Ride. With a background in track, time-trialling, road racing and mountain biking he has first hand experience of the needs of most types of competition. Riding with Nick it is rumoured that at various times they were 6th in the National 100km team time trial, took bronze in the Divsional Team Pursuit, and 9th on the track in the National Team Pursuit. These days, with a lower spine now held together with screws, and with increasing age, his competitive outings are mainly limited to time trials with his club - Birmingham Midland Cycling - of which he is Treasurer.

Nick Selibas.   Nick has been cycling since a youth (known as "schoolboy racing" in his day) riding circuit races at first with a few wins, then 3rd in Birmingham junior divisional champs when we had 40+ racing juniors in division. He went on to progress to a 1st Cat licence then had a number of years off. Now racing as a vet at track, road and cyclo cross. Nick won the National vets champs when it was the VCRA at 20k, and took Bronze in the sprint. Rode with Rich many times in National 4-up TTT when it was a 100km event, and similarly on the track at Divisional and National Team Pursuit. He is an accredited British Cycling Club Coach and an Advanced Wattbike Practitioner, and has several cyclists on individual training plans. Nick ran Wattbike sessions at Friary Grange Lesure Centre for four years, and runs youth training at Curbrough. He is a member and current chairman of Birmingham Midland Cycling club.

Niki Haines.  Niki is a Level 2 Gym Instructor, and a Level 3 REPs accredited Personal Trainer. As a 42 year old mum with a lifelong love of sports Niki has dabbled with football, cricket, running, climbing and swimming over the years. For the last 10 years she’s been an obsessive road cyclist and the love of the sport has taken her on many a mad adventure with her cycling crew. Six years ago she was diagnosed with a degenerative spinal arthritis which often curtails her own personal fitness goals but she never lets it beat her.

About this Niki says, "Exercise is a lifeline to me and keeps my condition at bay. It is also the inspiration that pushed me on to becoming a personal trainer in the hope I can help others in their health and fitness journey."

As well as teaching Wattbiking classes Niki also runs Personal Training from our small gym studio here at CFC. Visit www.nikihainespt.com or www.facebook.com/nikihainespt for more information.

He has been using Wattbikes for around five years and has gained a lot of knowledge from this which he has turned into running training sessions and helping clients achieve their goals. En route, Luke has gained qualifications as BETCH level 2 in Sport and Excellence, Gym Instructor, BC level 1 coaching, and has the Advanced Wattbike Practitioner qualification. Luke says " with my passion for coaching and helping to change peoples lives, coupled with my qualifications in sport, I am delighted to have an opportunity to work in the fitness centre."
